! This is a compilation of the top Tamil songs from the 90s to current. The videos that are included and its ranking are solely subjective. I am deeply sorry if this list does not include some of your favourite songs as picking the best 50 songs in the last 20 years can be extremely hard (as I have learned :p). Also, I have purposely left out some other great songs in order to distribute the songs throughout various movies. We can all agree that some movies (ie Kandukondein Kandukondein, AlaiPaayuthey and some other movies) have many great songs but for the purposes of including as many movies in the countdown as possible, I have left out some songs that truly deserve its place in the top 50. The songs that are included in this countdown were picked based on the following criterias: Lyrics, Melody and overall delivery of the song. Each song was given a grade and averaged out. The song with the highest overall grade was chosen as the number one song. Special thanks to Vijay, Ahilan, Vithulan, Amalan, Parthee (AKA Dj Brown Soul) and Myran (AKA Dj Double-M) for helping me out with the list.
