Was Amy Jackson Vikram’s choice?

Posted: 02 Aug 2012 11:35 AM PDT

Amy is Vikram's pair, not just in Thaandavam but also in I. The casting for the Shankar project was done after the director saw the stills of them together in Thaandavam, it is said. So, was it Vikram who recommended Amy to Shankar? The actor just shrugged it off saying, " I think everyone knows who Shankar sir is and how he is."

Apparently, the character in I demanded a London girl and that's why Amy was chosen. Amy says, "I'm honoured to be working with Vikram; that too so early in my career. We've done a lot of work in Thaandavam and I hope audiences like it."

Trade sources are rife with news that the Ajith starrer Billa 2 has fared badly in the overseas market. According to a popular industry pundit, who follows the film releases and its box office success keenly, Billa 2 flopped badly in the US and the UK, which are considered as the biggest overseas market for Tamil films.

While Billa 2 was screened in Britain and Ireland in 20 screens and in the US in the 31 screens, the total collections during the first weekend amounted only to 61.20 lakhs and 64 lakhs respectively.

In the US alone, the film has garnered about 90 lakhs during the three-week period it was screened. This is indeed a huge disappointment for the overseas distributors, states sources.

Super bod for Trisha

Posted: 02 Aug 2012 04:29 AM PDT

The Internet has been flooded with reports about Trisha hitting the gym vigorously to sport a sexy bod. The Samar actress is indeed working towards being in ship-shape.

However, contrary to rumours that Trisha is following this regimen for a role, the actress says that this is just her way of getting back to the fitness grind.
"I am indeed following a strict diet and fitness schedule. However, I am not doing this for any particular movie. I have been a little slack with workouts so I decided to get myself a personal trainer. This way I am motivated to push myself to workout everyday," she explains.
On reports about her walking out of a Priyadarshan film, she says, "That's just a rumour." The actress, who is working on Samar, Boologam and Endrendrum Punnagai, says, "Despite my busy shooting schedule, I have made sure that I find time to travel with my family and friends, and also bond with my dog," she signs off. That's one more bikini bod to look forward to in Kollywood!
