Thuppaki - the Wait Prolongs

Posted: 21 Sep 2012 03:46 AM PDT

This was supposed to be the judgment day for Thuppaki but unfortunately it is not! Yes, reports come in that the case has been adjourned yet again. Now, movie buffs and Vijay fans will have to wait until October 3rd to know the fate of this film.

The Thuppaki title issue is in court waiting for a judgment as the makers of Kalla Thuppaki are opposing the usage of this title since it is very similar to theirs.

Vijay fans have been waiting with bated breath for the court to vacate the stay on the title so that the audio release and promos can begin. However, the case is dragging on for various reasons and now it has been adjourned to October 3rd.

'Mass emotional entertainer'. This is how director Shiva (of 'Siruthai' fame) describes his next film with Ajith. "The project will hit the floors in December," he says.
To be produced by Vijaya Productions, on the centenary year of its founder B Nagi Reddy, the film has already raised enough expectations. "I am currently giving finishing touches to the script," Shiva says.
He also informs that attempts are on to have Anushka Shetty on board. A popular director in Telugu with some hit movies to his credit, Shiva hopes he could pull it off with this flick.
"I know expectations are sky high since it is an Ajith starrer. I am hopeful of meeting them as I rely strongly on two things- Ajith and the script," he adds.

There were rumors that Rajamouli would remake the film in Hindi but he had denied it outright stating that remakes are not his cup of tea. As planned, the dubbed version is now getting to hit the silver screens, say sources.

Maakhi stars Nani and Samantha in the lead roles with Sudeep playing the central character as the villain. With the film turning out to be a smash hit in Tamil and Telugu, it is expected to rake in collections in Bollywood as well.
