Hyderabad court orders to file case against Genelia

Actor Genelia has landed in trouble with a Hyderabad court directing the Saifabad police to register an FIR against her and five others in connection with a scam of around Rs 250 crore. The court order came after one of the victims, Ch. Tirupataiah, filed a complaint stating that Genelia is the brand ambassador and also one of the directors of M/s Anjaniputra Infrastructure Private Limited.

In a truly extraordinary feat, Sachin Tendulkar has scored his hundreth century in International cricket against Bangladesh in the ongoing Asia Cup. Recently Vijay Tv and Sun Tv had a battle to get the satellite rights of Nanban starring Vijay, Ileana, Jeeva, Srikanth, Sathyan, Sathyaraj which is directed by S Shankar.
Finally it is Vijay Tv who won the battle and took home the satellite rights of Vijay's Nanban for a record price.
But, Sources say that this time Sun Tv is not going to make any compensation to bag the rights of Thupakki, which has Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in the lead and directed by AR Murugadoss.

Meghana Raj is currently very busy with lots of films in her kitty. She was last seen in the movie 'Uyarthiru 420' in Kollywood. She is very much thrilled about a role in her recent movie.

One of the movies, in which Meghana is currently involved is 'Nandha Nandhita'. It is directed by Ramsiva. On sharing her happiness over her role in this film, Meghana says that, "'Nandha Nandhita' is a very good Love Story.

In this, I am acting in the character of a very responsible girl, who takes care of the whole family. She faces lots of troubles before she comes in contact with Nandha and falls in Love with him. But, finally discovers that, he is not as how he projects himself".

While speaking about this movie, the Director of this movie Ramsiva says that, "I have directed this film in both the Tamil and Telugu versions separately. Few weeks before, the Telugu version was released. I am awaiting the release the Tamil version of it very soon".

Ramsiva also adds that, "This movie is basically about Nandha who is unable to get education and love of his mother in childhood. As and when he meets Nandhita, his life changes a lot. What happens later in his life forms the remaining part of the Story".

Actress Shriya Saran halts Pokkiri Raja over remuneration issue

Actress Shriya Saran has lodged a complaint against the producers of her Malayalam movie Pokkiri Raja at South Indian Film Artistes Association over remuneration issue. She has alleged that the movie bosses are releasing the film in Tamil without paying her extra bucks.

The 29-year-old says that she came to know that the makers of the film were dubbing Pokkiri Raja in Tamil recently. However, when they signed her for the film, they did not pay more. Hence, Shriya Saran has filed the complaint at South Indian Film Artistes Association asking them to halt the release of the movie until they settle her dues.
On the other end, Malaysia Pandian, who has bagged the Tamil rights, said that he has not signed any agreement with Shriya Saran and it is the responsibility of the original producers to pay her salary. He will be taking legal action against the actress if she tries to halt the release in Tamil Nadu.

Prabhu Deva, who has been out of acting for some time after getting interested in directing films, has returned to his profession _ dancing.

With the shooting of his Hindi remake (starring Akshaya Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha) of 'Vikramarkudu' in Telugu and 'Chiruthai' in Tamil, is nearing completion, Prabu Deva has been cast in a UTV dance-centric film directed by ace choreographer Remo D'souza. It is titled 'ABCD' (Anybody Can Dance). This is claimed to be the first dance film in 3D in Indian cinema. The shooting of the film started in Mumbai on March 5.
Speaking about the film, director D'souza says ABCD is his dream project. He has written the script keeping Prabhu Deva in mind. The film will be an expose of sorts on the talent and skills of Indian dancers and have dazzling dance sequences.
Prabhu Deva says he is happy to return to dancing. He and Ganesh Acharya are the key characters. Lauren Gottlieb, the global winner of the popular Television talent shop, 'So you think you can dance' plays the heroine. 'Dance India Dance' winners Salman Khan, Dharmesh, Prince, Mayuresh and Vrushali are central characters. "The thought of dancing with them gives me the feeling of being a student," Prabhu Deva says.

Prabhu Deva has completed almost 90 percent of Rowdy Rathore and started work as hero in Remo directed AnyBody Can Dance (ABCD) India's first dance musical in 3D.

He has lost almost 6 kilos, got a fantastic make-over from Pompi who is Kareena Kapoor's personal stylist and the shooting is taking place in Mumbai.
A source close to Prabhu Deva says that he is all set to dance after a long break and has deliberately lost weight to stay fit and is busy with practices.
ABCD, is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and will also have Ganesh Acharya and Lauren Gottlieb in the cast. Sachin-Jigar is the music director.
Recently Prabhu told a Mambai tabloid: "I can feel so much energy on the sets of ABCD. There are so many fantastic young dancers in this film and matching steps with them has been really fun and tough for me at the same time. I feel like a teenager being around them and it's great to be dancing again. In fact, I feel more like a dancer working in the film than being an actor."

Noted writers SuBa, the pen name of D Suresh and AN Balakrishnan, will be teaming up with maverick director Shankar for his next project. The buzz is that they will be penning screenplay for the filmmaker's upcoming Tamil film.

Rumours are rife that SuBa got a call from Shankar's office recently. It is said that the filmmaker, who has a history of working with authors like late Sujatha and Madan Karky, has asked the duo to pen the script for the upcoming project, which is expected to be announced shortly.
Shankar recently opened up on his next project on his website. He wrote, "he said, "As I started working on my next script, I couldn't be in touch with you. So far I have not finalised anyone regarding the next project. Just working on the story." However, other details about his project are under wraps.
Earlier, SuBa had earlier penned scripts for the movies like Ko, Ayan, Nootrenbadhu, Kana Kandein etc.

‘Disability is not an inability’ says Abinaya

With a hearing impairment, Abinaya made her mark as a talented actress with her remarkable performance in Nadodigal.
The journey has not been easy for this beautiful woman. Abinaya's father explains, "Within 30 days after she was born, we came to know that she has got a hearing impairment. We accepted it and prepared our mind to support our child. She was also unable to walk till she was 3 years of age.

After medical treatment we made her walk. She was placed in a special school where she learnt lip-reading. She was very expressive right from her childhood and so we encouraged her to take up acting.
Though her physical challenges upset her sometime, she never indulged in self-pity. She has overcome her disability with a positive attitude. Now as an actress she feels that language is not a barrier and she is able to work in any language.
" Her dad continues, "It was difficult until she was offered her debut film Nadodigal. Many hesitated to give her an opportunity as they thought that it would be too difficult to enact a scene with her. But Samuthrakani trusted her capability and introduced her in Nadodigal."
On her never-say-die attitude, he says, "She works incredibly hard and is v ery focused on the task at hand. She immerses herself in the character and her mom is her constant companion.
Abinaya has never felt shaken by the prejudice that comes her way. She has totally accepted herself and knows her limitations. With these limitations, she has also worked on building her skill-set and polishing her talents. Her disability is not an inability."

The winners of the prestigious 59th National Film Awards were just announced by Rohini Hattangady, the Chairperson of Feature Films Jury.
Vaagai Sooda Vaa' has bagged the Best Film award! The film directed by Sargunam features Vimal and Iniya in the lead roles and is a period movie that's set in the 1960s.

'Aaranya Kandam' directed by Thiagarajan Kumaraja is yet another film that made us proud. The neo-noir film bagged two prestigious awards including Best Editing and Best Debut Film Of A Director.

An ecstatic SPB Charan who produced the film speaks to IG, "I'm honored! It hasn't even sunk in yet and this is our first National Awards. I congratulate my team who have made us proud".

'Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai' has fetched its lead Appukutty with the Best Supporting Actor Award and the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment Award.

It may be mentioned that although all these three quality entertainers received rave reviews, much accolades and now even the prestigious National Award, they didn't fair too well commercially. Its sad how Tamil film patrons, who usually welcome varied ventures, didn't support these quality films. However, we'll have to wait to see if any of these entertainers will see a re-release.

'Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom' is the movie produced by V.S.Rajkumar and co-produced by K.sathish. It is directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan.

'Thenmerku Paruvakkatru' fame Vijay Sedhupathi and Debutante Gayathri are playing the lead roles in this film. A.R.Rahman's Student Ved Shanker is making his debut. Cinematography is by C.Premkumar and Editing is by R.Govindaraj. Gavee takes care of the Art Direction.

'Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom' is based on a real-life incident. Regarding this, the Co-producer of the movie Satish says, "This is a film inspired from a chapter in the life of cameraman Premkumar (of Pasanga fame). Prem and Balaji are good friends and Balaji was witness to the incident that happened."

Satish also adds that, "What happens when a few pages in a novel goes missing? There's no continuity and you won't understand the story. The film deals with short term memory loss, and has been said in a humorous tone."

One of India's most successful cricket captains, Saurav Ganguly though retired is not too far from the spotlight as he does commentaries and is also a game show host. Now he seems poised to make his grand entry into films. The cricketer recently watched Telugu film, Golconda High School starring Sumanth and loved it so much he went ahead and bought the remake rights for the film.

Popular dancer in Alfonsa, who appeared in Bassaha in the song Ra Ra … is rushed to hospital in critical condition after she reportedly consumed tablets.

Alfonsa was living with her lover Vinod Kumar from Kalpakkam, in Chennai.
On Sunday, she returned from Dubai and reportedly had a quarrel with his lover. She was shocked to see him hanging from the ceiling in the wee hours of today.
Alfonsa returned home and decided to end her life by consuming tablets. She was immediately rushed to nearby hospital in a critical condition.

First Kajal Aggarwal created a furore with her semi-nude photo shoot in a men's magazine and then later dismissed it as a morphed picture.

After that the T-town hottie was in the news for an intimate liplock with superstar Mahesh Babu in the film Businessman.
Such moves after her B'town stint were probably what made K-town director Murugadoss reportedly request the actress to show some skin in his upcoming Tamil film Thuppaki. To his surprise, the actress sternly refused, making it very clear that there would be no skin show in the film.
"We did a photo shoot with Vijay and Kajal and she was very co-operative. In the course of discussions, the director informed her about a specific scene, which was almost a semi-nude act in order to register a crucial idea in the storyline. He also mentioned about the photo shoot done for a men's magazine and requested something similar, but she just refused to do it," says a source close to K-town superstar Vijay.
Now, the production house is determined to convince the actress and wrap up the pending portions, as the film is slated for release in April or May.
However, Kajal's mother Vinay Aggarwal denies the report saying,"Murgadoss knows Kajal well enough to be aware that she would never act in such a scene. They share a great rapport and he hasn't come up with any such proposal to Kajal. Of course, she did a photo shoot with co-star Vijay for the film which went well."

When a film is the oeuvre of a man who has proved his raconteuring skills at national and international platforms, it is but natural that the expectation meter shoots up to stratospheric levels. Added to that when the story is from the pages of the Sahitya Academy winning novel of Su Venkatesan's Kaaval Kottam, the product glides up several notches in the anticipation domains.
Aravaan as Vasanthabalan has been saying in all his interviews is a character from Mahabharatha, is the son of Arjuna and is a complete MAN in all aspects. Vasanthabalan has juxtaposed this quality onto a character belonging to South Tamil Nadu from 18th century.
The film opens up to an imposing and a strong Pasupathi who is on a heist mission with his fellow men on a dark night. The ensuing 10-15 minutes take you on a thrill ride and you gear up for Vasanthabalan to weave his magical baton on you.
Balan should be credited for his attempt to chronicle the lives of people of South Tamil Nadu of 18th century. The intriguing locales, his key men Aadhi and Pasupathy are the major factors that turn the tables in Aravaan's favor. We get to learn the customs, traditions, lifestyles of these people and are convinced that Balan and his team have done their research well. The tribe called Kallar, the nitty gritty details of their thievery, their ethics, and their own methods of justice are all interesting. In the Oore Oore ditty too, Viveka comes to Balan's aid in conveying the ethnicity of the tribe and their belief systems.
The amount of hard work that Aadhi and Pasupathy have put in for their roles not just in the physical aspect but also in the histrionics segment is palpable. Post Aravaan, Aadhi's career graph is sure to go north. In fact, it is these two, who shoulder the entire film. Another positive force for the film is art director Vijay Murugan for bringing in front of us the habitat of a particular period.
On the flip side, Aravaan does not have a homogenous engrossing quotient. And its length (2 hours and 48 minutes) don't contribute to this either. Some of the dialogues and body languages are so contemporary that you wonder how a director of the calibre of Vasanthabalan could have missed this. The way Aadhi says 'romba pasikkudhu' with a 21st century urban drawl, Archana Kavi's dialogues to Aadhi to marry her, Dhansika's urban body language, Singam Puli's humor are all completely jarring to the period in which Aravaan is set. The all too obvious and sloppy CG work in the scene where Aadhi rescues Pasupathy should have been avoided.
While the first half focuses on Pasupathy's tribe, the pre-interval block puts forth the suspense about Aadhi's background. But the second half is filled with so many scenes which move back and forth from flash back to present that sometimes confuse the audience. The suspense factor about Bharath's murder is well handled.
Bharath, Anjali and Shwetha Menon appear in cameo and it is sad that Dhansika fail to make an impact. An example is the scene is where Aadhi accuses Dhansika of her sexual desires. When substantial years have passed by and some of the main characters appearances have also changed, Karikalan and Dhansika remain just the same. This could have been taken care.
Singer Karthik makes his debut as music composer and his tracks are fairly serviceable. Cameraman Siddharth's work just passes muster.
There is an end card which says that capital punishment should be banned. But if this is what Balan wanted to convey, it baffles as to why he brought in 18th century Tamils. Finally when the film draws to a close, there is something amiss that you are not able to place a finger on.
Verdict: High on detailing and effort, low on engaging.

It looks like things are yet to settle down when it comes to the leading ladies of Kamal Haasan's magnum opus, 'Viswaroopam'. Bollywood actress Isha Sharvani, who was expected to share the screen space with the Ulaganayagan, has reportedly opted out of the project.

"With a heavy heart, I had to walk out of Viswaroopam due to date issues. I was so happy when I was approached by Kamal sir's office. I was thrilled to act with an actor like Kamal. But I had no other option than to stay out of the film since I could not allot dates," she said.

'Viswaroopam', directed by Kamal and produced by the actor's home banner Raajkamal in association with PVP Cinema, is being reportedly made at a budget of nearly Rs 150 crore. Kamal is said to be playing more than one roles in the movie.

Recently, the cast and crew returned India after shooting some important scenes in the United States. It is said that Kamal is planning to release the movie by the middle of this year, in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Richa is shooting for two songs for her forthcoming Bengali film Mahashatru, a remake of Karthi's Siruthai. It's her first film in her mother tongue.
Richa and the unit took 24 hours from Kolkata to reach Petra via Dubai and Amman the historical and archaeological city in Jordan, where many Tamil film songs have been shot.
The weather in Petra was supposed to be cool but unusually there was snowfall and Richa had not taken any warm clothing.
The actress who reached Petra at 3am in the morning will be purchasing some winter clothing, so that she can shoot the songs in the outdoor.

'Raavanan' in Austrian Film Museum

The reputed Austrian Film Museum, which has so far only 15 Indian movies in its list, will have one more addition soon. It is Mani Ratnam's 'Raavanan', which has Vikram and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles! It may be mentioned, the Hindi version of the film, 'Raavan', featured Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.

The library boasts of 25,500 films in its collection, which is considered a treasure trove for movie-buffs. Also, it is home to a library with more than 20,000 books and over 200 magazine titles covering a broad range of film related topics.

According to reports, the museum's director Alexander Horwath was stunned when he watched 'Raavanan' at an international film festival recently, and following this, he decided to have a copy of the movie at his workplace.

"It was a glorious evening," he was quoted as saying about watching 'Raavanan'. He reportedly added: "While reading more about the project, I was struck by Ratnam's approach of shifting around the traditional role of a hero and antagonist in the service of a commentary on present day India."

In order to accommodate the screening of Kamal Hassan's upcoming Tamil film Vishwaroobham, the Cannes Film Festival, an event to preview new movies from around the world, has reportedly extended its deadline.

A Mumbai-based tabloid reports that the prestigious film festival has extended its deadline to March 15. Speaking to the publication, Kamal Hassan has said that he is doing his best to finish at the earliest. The actor is confident of completing the task on time.

Director A L Vijay is planning to release his much-awaited Thanadavam on 15 August. Starring Vikram, Anushka and Amy Jackson, the movie produced by UTV Pitucres is gearing up fast.

He says,' a major portion of the movie occurs in USA and the crew ill pack up to US after completing the Chennai schedule'.
There are six songs in the movie set to tunes the G V Prakash. Vikram is upbeat that Thandavam will make it big. A few portions of the movie were shot in New Delhi recently.

Shahid Kapoor has been signed to play the lead role in the remake of Tamil superhit movie Vettai. The actor will be reprising the role of a jobless and fun-loving guy played by Arya in the original.

With this film, director N Lingusamy, who directed the original, will be making his debut in Bollywood. It is said that recently UTV Motion Pictures arranged a special screening of Vettai for Shahid Kapoor and the storyline impressed him. Shahid Kapoor gave a nod to star in the film instantly and allotted the dates for the film. However, the production house is yet to finalise the other cast and crew.

Having directed almost a dozen flicks, action king Arjun Sarja, who amazed in a negative role in Mankatha, speaks to DC in an exclusive interview about Prasad, Bollywood and more…
On Prasad: he says "In the 26 years of my film career, I haven't done a film like Prasad. It is an emotion-packed film.
I play a mechanic from a lower middleclass family and Madhuri Bhattacharya plays the role of my wife. When she conceives, the mechanic wishes for a baby boy.
He is on top of the world when his wife delivers a baby boy but is shattered when he realises that the child is deaf and dumb. Manoj Sati has made a realistic film, without any exaggeration.
The climax will explain why I accepted a film like Prasad. The highlight of the movie is 7-year-old Sankalp, who plays the title role and is deaf and mute in real life as well.
On his Berlin Fest experience: Since the movie had a global theme and message, producer Ashok Kheny made a festival version also.
The Kannada version was premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival recently. and the response was tremendous Joining Mani Ratnam in Kadal: I can't reveal much! It should come from Mani sir.
But, it is not a role with grey shades! Apart from the 'Mani' factor, what prompted me to accept this flick was its unusual characterisation.
Returning to direction: I have agreed to direct a film for Aascar Films. It is an action movie and I play the lead. Also, talks are on with Eros International for directing a Hindi movie.
Future offerings: Apart from Kadal, there is Vana Yuddhama by AMR Ramesh. Maasi with Kicha is ready for release. and Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal with director Vasanth.

AR Rahman's student Ved Shankar will be making his debut in the music industry with Naduvala Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom. It is a film to be directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan and features newcomers, Vijay Sedhupathi and Bagavathi. Andrea has sung one of the tracks and Ved Shankar has also rendered a number in his voice.
Ved Shankar was the first student enrolled among the 40 students, AR Rahman handpicked personally for his KM Music Conservatory which he founded in July 2008. Not surprisingly, a lot is expected from Ved Shankar and he will be hoping to make AR Rahman proud.

French love story "The Artist" became the first silent film to win the best picture Oscar in 83 years as it scooped five honours at the Academy awards where veteran Meryl Streep was crowned the best actress.

The Academy paid tribute to its own roots by awarding the black and white film, which triumphed over the big names like Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen, to win the top award. The last silent film to win the best picture Oscar was "Wings" in 1929.

Director Michel Hazanavicius and Jean Dujardin walked away with the best director and actor trophies.

"I am the happiest director in the world. I want to thank the financier, the crazy person who put money in the movie," said Hazanavicius, 44.

"The Artist" beat eight rivals for the top prize, including Martin Scorsese's "Hugo", Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris" and "The Help". Scorsese's "Hugo" tied up with "The Artist" by winning five trophies in technical categories on Sunday night.

Streep, the most nominated actress in the Academy history with 17 nods, looked dazzling as she accepted her third Oscar and her first in the last 30 years for her portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady."

The 62-year-old star previously won for 1979 film "Kramer vs Kramer" and 1982's "Sophie's Choice".

"Oh my God! thank you so much. When they called my name, I had the feeling I could hear half of America going, 'oh, come on, her again?," Streep said while accepting the statuette to a standing ovation.

"I really understand I'll never be up here again," Streep said as she thanked her husband, make-up artist and friends.

Dujardin, who plays silent hero George Valentin who fades as talkies make their presence felt in Hollywood, beat George Clooney and Brad Pitt to win the best actor honour.

Director Bala is planning to rope in his Naan Kadavul heroine Pooja for Eriyum Thanal. The director is to conduct a test shoot on Pooja and is expected to officially announce her as the heroine in the film. The film also star Vedhika as a female lead with Atharva as the hero.

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is likely to be arrested for fracturing the nose of a guest at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai. Saif along with Kareena Kapoor and some of his friends were having a good time at a restaurant at the Taj Hotel in Colaba last night when the incident occurred.

The victim Iqbal Sharma filed a complaint on the actor for punching him on his nose. Sharma had allegedly objected to the commotion created by Saif and company and ask them to keep quiet, the actor did not take it in good spirit and punched him on the nose.
The police have arrested Saif in this connection and all those present with him will be questioned including Kareena, informed the police. The offense is bailable and if a huge surety is given Saif may be released soon, said sources.

Tamil blockbusters carrying themselves to the lanes of B-town have become the recent formula of success. While most of the films are either based on gangsters or love story in foreign locales, our films have been providing them wide range of entertainments with mixed ingredients of love, action, glamour, sentiment, etc…

While lots of Tamil projects are on cards, Ko will be the next flick to be remade. According to the recent reports, Akshay Kumar has been signed for the lead role that was essayed by Jiiva while Karthika's characterization will be picked up by Katrina Kaif. Prakash Raj has been not considered for his reprisal, but instead Nana Patekar will be signed.

Rest of the details will be unveiled shortly while Prakash Jha is wielding megaphone for the movie.

Jayaram doesn't sign the projects at an ease, but takes scrutinizing efforts over listening to the scripts and picks them up only if he is convinced with the characterizations. After a long sabbatical gap, the Malayalam actor will be making his comeback to Kollywood through Vijay's Thuppakki. The actor has confirmed the news saying, "Yes, it's true that I have signed the project of A.R. Murugadoss and Vijay. I was quite impressed with the characterization and so went ahead."

When asked whether he plays a negative role in this film, he reverted without pause, "If I had played negative roles in couple of movies, it doesn't mean, I will continue to get myself portrayed in the same shades."

If A.R. Rahman becomes intensely engrossed over a project, he makes sure of emblazoning them with his uttermost creative levels. Remember the musical maestro giving out a new version of Maangalyam Thanthunaanena Song for Alaipayuthey. Similarly, he had composed an additional song 'Naan Varuven' for Manirathnam's 'Raavanan'.

Now his ritualistic practice spreads towards Gautham Vasudev Menon as well. While most of the tracks are reprised from the original version for Ek Deewana Tha, the academy award winner has scored an additional track titled Mohabbat that goes in a classical style of Elvis Presley.

The film is scheduled to hit screens day after tomorrow (February 17) and it has already created huge sensation.

Vijay gets 'Rajini award'

A recent awards event in the city saw a huge turnout of film personalities —thanks to the ongoing strike in K'town.
Vijay was awarded the Rajini Award for his performance in Velayudham at the 5th edition of the Edison Awards for Tamil Cinema that took place recently.

While Richa Gangopadhyay received the Best Actress award, Iniya and Mahat were honoured as the Best Debutants.
Premji received the Best Comedian award and LR Eswari was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Aishwarya Dhanush received the Best Song award for the Kolaveri Di number. Harris Jayaraj was adjudged the best music composer and Kovai Sarala the best character artiste.
A host of K'town celebs including Jayam Ravi, Lakshmi Rai, and director Mysshkin were present.

Ever since she was a six-year-old, Rochelle Rao has been smitten by the modelling industry. And taking one firm step at a time, this young sassy babe is ensuring that she fulfills her dream of becoming a successful model.

Today, Rochelle is amongst the 20 most beautiful women in the country, and is all set to impress the judges in the final rounds of the Miss India pageant.
Rochelle, who has been undergoing rigorous training sessions with Ajith Sigamani, says, "I got a taste of what the pageant will be like when I participated in the Miss India South contest. So I was mentally prepared."
From giving up all her favourite food to working out several hours in a day, Rochelle has taken it upon herself to sport a fab bod. "I am a foodie by nature," she says. "But since December, I've had to give up all the food I really love. Though when someone looks at me and compliments me, I feel all this training is really worth it!"
Rochelle is no stranger to the profession. Be it TV shows or ramp walks, she's a familiar face. "I've been in this profession for many years, but it was only in the first few rounds that I realised there were so many things I didn't know. Unlike in Mumbai or Delhi, for models in Chennai the exposure is not up to the mark. I had to unlearn so many things. Prasad Bidappa and Marc Robinson were both extremely helpful in training me!"
She adds, "Be it physically or even in the way I think, I can feel the development in myself. And I am loving this change!"
Considering all the challenges that she has faced in the profession, Rochelle has managed to learn from them and survive, despite all odds. "I am a Christian and being in this profession was looked down upon! But I knew that this was what I was born to do and I love my profession. I also realised that if people pass negative comments, it probably means they're jealous and the best thing to do is to just ignore them!"
Rochelle explains that it is so easy to be carried away by all the glitz and attention — she's had to mend several errors that she'd committed because of that.
"I used to be cocky. I had an attitude problem. But I soon realised that once you're off the stage, you have to respect society. There are people who have seen it all and you owe them the credit.
Even if it's a tea boy on the sets of a show, you must give him the respect he deserves. I've always had to go back to the people I misbehaved with and apologise. Being humble is one of the biggest lessons this profession has taught me!"
The pretty model is readying for the next round, which is likely to be in March. She says, "Rehane is already working on some of my clothes.
And I am lucky that some of the best in this profession including Sidney Sladen, Chaitanya Rao and Sunil Menon are helping me throughout!"

The Chennai Rhinos have won the first Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) T20 Trophy. Chennai Rhinos won by 1 run. Priyamani, Madhushalini were there to cheer the teams. Vikranth is a wonderful performance.

The shooting of Vijay's next 'Thupaki', which came to a halt following a war of words between the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) and Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), is set to get a re-start.

"Shootings of many films, including Thupaki, faced a hurdle due to the tussle. Now that the issue is expected to be settled thanks to the intervention of government, work on movies would commence soon. It has been planned to re-start Thupaki on February 20," sources say.

Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, 'Thupaki' is being directed by AR Murugadoss. Some important portions of the movie were being shot in Mumbai, when the wage row between the producers and workers hit a new low and the shooting was disrupted.

Kajal Aggarwal is playing Vijay's love interest in this action-adventure. "From February 20, the shooting will commence again in Mumbai. After the schedule, the cast and crew will leave for foreign locations," add sources.

Kerala girl Bhavana has not made it to the Kollywood scene of late. With her Malayalam flick 'Arabiyum Ottakavum P Madhavan Nairum' doing well at the halls; the actress is in no hurry to sign up new offers just for the sake of it. Recently she was seen at the The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) matches supporting her team Amma Kerala Strikers with much enthusiasm.

The tournament hasn't been a good one for the Kerala team who lost 3 of their total 5 matches, sitting just behind the Chennai Rhinos, edging them for the semi final spot on pure run rate basis. Beauties Lakshmi Rai and Bhavana were the brand ambassadors for team Kerala. Rumor mills suggest that the latter had taken a special attraction towards one of the team members named Rajeev Pillai, cousin of cricketer Sreesanth.
Rajeev who happens to be model, actor, cricketer and even a dentist by profession??, resides in Mumbai presently. He was a strong force for the team winning the 'Man of the Match' title 2 times in the entire tournament. When asked if she had something for this Rajeev guy, Bhavana maintains, "I met Rajeev Pillai only during the CCL matches. I know him well. But it is not true that we are in love." The actress went on to say that she was not in love with anyone and being a brand ambassador it was her duty to cheer up her team.
